The Hat Lady believes that with the growth of E-Commerce and online activity, the information collected from web store customers should be kept confidential.  We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that information furnished by our customers about themselves will be safeguarded and not be made available to third parties.

Customer Choice: A customer may choose not to receive any marketing communications from The Hat Lady in connection with The Hat Lady online storefront.  Upon notification of that choice, The Hat Lady will not contact that customer directly with marketing messages about The Hat Lady online storefront, and will not use information which identifies that customer obtained from that customer's order forms to contact that customer with marketing messages about any The Hat Lady products or services.  A customer may choose not to receive such messages by e-mail, by feedback form, by mail, or by telephone.

Collection of Data: The Hat Lady collects data about customers only in so far as it relates to the business activities between The Hat Lady web store and the customer.

E-mail: The company will not disclose to third parties E-mail communications that are sent to The Hat Lady services except as required to process orders or as otherwise authorized by law.

Inappropriate or Malicious Conduct: The Hat Lady may also use information which identifies the customer to investigate and help prevent potentially unlawful activity or activity that threatens the server or otherwise violates the customer agreement for a service provided.  Malicious activity of crackers and those wishing to release computer viruses and/or malicious code will be reported to both the FBI and NSA.

Account Information: The Hat Lady honors requests from customers for account information, for example, name, address, or billing information, and will correct any such information which may be inaccurate. Customers may verify that appropriate corrections have been made.

Children On The Internet: The Hat Lady supports all legislation regarding the protection of children from supplying information about themselves that may be detrimental to their well-being.  Also, we shall make reasonable efforts to ensure that young teens and minors, who do not have permission to use their parent's / guardian's credit information, do not offer us that information. At this time, we can only inform young teens and minors that they need such permission to offer us that sort of information.  To that extent, we do require all potential customers to indicate that they are at least 18 years of age or older.  We encourage parents and guardians to obtain software, make use of logon passwords, and to safeguard their credit information, from their children and minors in their custody.

Accordingly, The Hat Lady does not target children or teenagers (younger than eighteen years of age) for collection of information online. The Hat Lady does not solicit or collect information which identifies that customer targeted at children and teenagers under eighteen and does not allow anyone else to do so on an The Hat Lady Web Site. In addition, the editorial content of The Hat Lady Web Site is designed so that children will not knowingly promote or link to any third party web site that collects customer identifiable information unless that web site publishes a privacy policy that is easily accessible.
